Breaking Walls 2021 Cerdanyola del Vallès Initiative Reflections by Dani

“Hi, I’m Dani and I’ve come to explain my time traveling through this wonderful project Breaking Walls.

“At first, we were all very confused, since we didn’t know what we were going to do. Our dearest Fran explained to us how we were going to work, but she didn’t mention EVERYTHING. The first days we built some very personal texts that helped us to open up with others, made us lose our shame, and we were able to understand the thoughts of our schoolmates.

“Personally, I took the opportunity to say things that I would never say since it was in another language and I felt more comfortable speaking it – knowing that few people would understand everything 100%.

“What surprised me the most, was that we were making our own script without even realizing it. I not only had to recite my writings but also Rapped one piece! And that made me laugh and was very exciting.

Finally, I want to talk about the experience in general. It was AMAZING. We went from not knowing anything to making the audience cry with our performance. It was very emotional and has helped us get along even better with the class group we’ve known for four years as well as Taoufik and Yousef. I think Breaking Walls is something that everyone should do at least once in their life.”
