On-Going Cultural & Educational Partners

The Rainbow Dreams Trust

Founder and Director Dannie Kagan established the charity in 2006 with the aim of fulfilling the hopes and dreams of underprivileged children and adults. Their focus has been refined over the years and work with the clear goal of supporting underprivileged youth to successfully navigate through the many real dangers inherent in growing up in under-resourced communities. It is based in Cape Town where the majority of the children the charity work is focused. Very occasionally it has become involved in projects elsewhere in South Africa.

They operate township youth clubs in and run youth camps for those underprivileged and additionally challenged, often by illness or disability. The Rainbow Dreams Trust fund the Beyond Environment Expectations Project and run a number of one-off Dream Catcher projects. These projects are varied and include the sponsorship of a talented dance troupe to attend a major arts festival; providing a route to education for a young blind learner; and the upgrade of a successful but poorly equipped community childcare center.

Their projects are managed by volunteers from within the community and strive to make the most out of the funds donated to them. The Rainbow Dreams Trust works in communities where a small amount of money can make a noticeable difference, and their volunteers understand the value of money and how to utilize it to the best effect. They monitor costs very tightly. Every project is budgeted separately and can be reported on individually thanks to Desiree our efficient and organized bookkeeper. We are more than happy to make our yearly audits and specific project financial information available to those who may be interested in partnering with us.

Paula-Fürst-Schule (Community School)

Based in Berlin, Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf District, Paula-First Schule is a public school founded in the school year 2009/10. It leads from the first class through the vocational training maturity, the middle school graduation to the Abitur in 13 years. This enables them to offer continuous support from the 1st grade through to graduation in our upper secondary school.

All students receive detailed statements about their achievements and learn to assess themselves. Grades are added from the 9th grade. Primary education includes proven Montessori approaches. We want to promote the strengths of every single young person. Teamwork and a high level of commitment from parents are our keys to success. They involve the professional and university world in the school and thus prepare the young people for their future life.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030

Breaking Walls empowers youth everywhere by using creative writing and theatrical performance to build global peace and acceptance. Young people from all over our world, representing many cultures, religions, socio-economic conditions, sexual orientations, educational levels and status as immigrants and refugees, discover their voice to act as peacemakers and leaders. Our creative activism guides young people in creating an alternative community, modeling an equitable, inclusive and peaceful cohabitation and social interaction built on the arts, understanding, and acceptance.

Breaking Walls now promotes a continually-expanding equitable, inclusive, respectful and trusting world cultivated by our artists, ambassadors, and associates based in-part on our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030. Our “graduates” emerge armed with compassion, collaboration, a sense of accountability, and commitment – hungry to nurture a world in which they can all trust one another.
